Garland defeated South Garland 56-43 on Friday night.
With both teams putting up a total of 1,082 offensive yards combined, Garland came out on top. Jayshon Powers got garland out to an early lead with a 61-yard touchdown run then another 2-yard touchdown run. Quarterback Cergio Perez threw for 284 yards and 5 touchdowns in the game.
South Garland, down 29-6 started to make a comeback when Jalil Brown ran for 56 yards for a TD. South Garland then went on a 30-14 point run bringing the score within one touchdown but fell short to the Owls.
