With a last minute touchdown with 10 seconds remaining, Lovejoy defeated Frisco Reedy 20-19.
It was a close one Frisco Memorial Stadium as Lovejoy and Frisco Reedy competed till the very end. Going into the half, Lovejoy was up 14-10 but Reedy responded quickly by scoring 9 unanswered points. 6 of those being a 72 yard pick-six by Jack Pruitt. Lovejoy, up 19-14 with 3 minutes left in the game had the opportunity to seal the deal with a 45 yard field goal attempt, but it was no good. With 10 seconds remaining, Lovejoy quarterback R.W. Rucker found Reid Westervelt for a 7 yard touchdown to win the game 20-19.
