Out at Hanby Stadium, Mesquite defeated Rockwall-Heath 49-39.
In the first half alone there were 5 lead changed, 5 interceptions, 165 penalty yards and two blocked punts in the crazy matchup between Mesquite and Rockwall Heath. In the second quarter, we would see five touchdowns between the two teams in only a 4-minute span however after Ja’Darion Smith’s 20-yard reception to end the second quarter, Mesquite wouldn’t give back the lead. LaDarius Turner rushed for 215 yards and two touchdowns as well for mesquite in the win. For Heath, Josh Hoover was 28 of 54 passing for 388 yards and three touchdowns but still fell short.
