In front of a packed house, Southlake Carroll defeated Denton Guyer 46-34.

It was a close matchup as these two teams went head to head on Friday night. Southlake Carroll sophomore quarterback Quinn Ewers showed out though, throwing for 331 yards and rushing for 117 while also racking up 6 touchdowns in the win.
Guyer’s wide receiver Seth Meador started things off for the wildcats with two touchdowns to give them an early lead of 14-0 going into the second quarter. However, Carroll wasn’t going to give up there. Wills Meyer would put two TDs of the board as well as one from Blake Smith in the second quarter along with a field goal to give the dragons a 25-21 lead going into the half. In the fourth, Guyer cut Carrolls lead to 39-34 with under three minutes to play however Ewers answered with a 70-yard touchdown pass to give the Dragons a two-score lead and to seal the deal, Dragons defensive back James Miscoll got his first interception to put the game away for Carroll. The dragon offense finished with 504 total yards.

Guyers quarterback Eli Stowers threw 18 for 28 with 172 yards and three touchdowns as well as 112 yards rushing and another score for the wildcats.
